Ancient Faith, Living Church: Trustworthy Witnesses
Jesus does incredible things. He cures diseases. He raises the dead. He forgives sins. As he confronts these maladies, Jesus wields the same powerful tool—his Word. This week, we see the power of Jesus’ Word against the forces of demonic darkness. It’s no wonder why the demons are terrified of the Son of the Most High. But this Sunday we’re emboldened by the reality that this gracious word has been placed in our hands so that we might advance his kingdom. We have no reason to be timid. We have no reason to be afraid. We know God’s power, his love, and the blessings of walking in paths of righteousness. And God has called us—especially fathers—to pass this powerful heritage on to the next generation as Lois, Eunice, and the Apostle Paul did to the young preacher Timothy.
