Ancient Faith, Living Church: Humble & Confident
It can be hard to ask for help. Sometimes, we don’t ask for help because we don’t think we need any help. We feel confident in our own abilities and skills. Other times, we realize our capacity to do and be doesn't match the challenges with which we’re faced. Yet, even then, we are slow to ask for help. We worry that we are not important or worthy enough to have our petitions granted. We remain silent because we fear that our pleas will be ignored; our requests, unheard. But the Lord is a God of grace, not merit. We deserve his wrath. He gives us his strength. We ought to be ignored; instead he bends his ear to us day and night. Why? Because our heavenly Father is good and gracious. He sent his Son to do and be for us so that we would be saved. He spares no expense!
