The Healthy Body: Eager To Worship The Living God
Are routines good or bad? That depends on your understanding. A routine without rationale deteriorates into a meaningless and purposeless process of going through the motions. But at its core, every good routine is a rhythmic and methodical way of doing something beneficial. God has designed worship to be a part of our routine. But when we worship without understanding, we run the risk of going through the motions. God has designed public worship for our spiritual nourishment and formation. When we gather around his means of grace—his Word and Sacraments— with his people, God is feeding and developing us so that we might know and reflect his love. As we fix our eyes on Christ crucified for us and for our world, we are humbled, fortified, and enlightened. As we praise our Lord, we anticipate our eternity!
