Navigating Life Well: Desires

We all play a game of hide and seek. We do our very best to hide all our offenses and failures, our guilt and our shame. We seek opportunities to highlight our best attributes and finest moments. But God sees through the charade. He knows us to our core. That would be a frightening thought if God did not reveal that he, too, is about hiding and seeking. The difference is that this is not a game for God, but rather a gift from God. God seeks us out in the darkness of our sin, while we were his ungodly, selfish enemies. He treads our sin underfoot. He hides our iniquities in the depths of the sea. His love is so astonishing that when people see it in action, they cannot help but grumble. How can God do this? He has come to seek and save the lost, bringing salvation to those who have been lost and cannot find a way out of their sin, guilt, and shame.
