Navigating Life Well: Frightening Events

Not many people enjoy waiting—even when it’s for something really great. Waiting while in pain is even harder to stomach. So why does God make his people wait for the return of his Son? We are not waiting because God is procrastinating or incapable of hurrying up. Peter reminds us that 2 Pt. 3:15 our Lord’s patience means salvation. But in being patient and saving many, our God does not neglect justice. He delays it until the perfect time. We need this word of hope because our world is filled with those who are abused, oppressed, persecuted, and even put to death for their faith in Jesus. Jesus gives us a sobering view: Everyone will hate you because of me. But our God sees every single soul that suffers for the sake of his name. Ps. 116:15 Their blood is precious in his sight. He will enable us to stand firm and win life.
